I am Gábor Holdampf, a teacher, a football scout and a parent. Football has accompanied me throughout my life, as a player, as a coach-teacher, as a scout and as a parent. I wrote my diploma thesis on the training of youth football players in 1991. I have always been interested in the "big picture" of players, that it is necessary to map out a football player from several aspects, whether they are youth or adult players. I considered it very important to emphasize, in addition to the immediately obvious qualities, those that may not seem so obvious if we do not consciously look for them.

The football scout:

In 2016, I started to really delve into the mysteries of professional football scouting and I was lucky because I had a personal mentor in the person of Brian Chambers, who was active in the English top football scene and had experience with Premier League and Championship clubs. For more than a year and a half, we exchanged ideas almost daily, analyzed, evaluated, and I can say that I had the best teacher that anyone wishing to learn the football profession could wish for. After participating in the player scouting courses of the International Professional Scouting Organization based in England, I was lucky enough to work with him in the player scouting training within the framework of IPSO-International Professional Scouting Organization. In 2018, we managed to bring the IPSO scout training to Hungary, we held 5 courses with IPSO director Colin Chambers, scout of Middlesbrough FC, Budapest Honvéd FC and Fehérvár FC were the hosts. In addition to these clubs, several clubs from the Hungarian top flight were also represented, such as Ferencvárosi Torna Club, MTK Budapest and DVTK. Moreover, from abroad, for example, the scout of Bayern Munich's youth team or the managers of Slavia Praha also paid their respects. The Number 1 sport channel M4 Sport reported on these occasions from the scene. In parallel, I was involved in observing and evaluating adult and youth players, and I still am today.

The parent:

4 of my 6 children have also come into contact with football, 3 are currently playing football, one of them is a professional player and 2 are youth players. This long time has also given me a lot of experience as a parent, I know many pitfalls, I know the mistakes that can be made as a "football parent who wants to do everything for their child".

The teacher:

I taught for 11 years in Sopron, and since 2002 I have been working as a teacher in a small private children's home in Austria. This platform has also brought additional experiences and perspectives into my life, which further facilitate effective work with children and young people, be it education, upbringing or sports.
